SWAMI KRISHNANAND- A GREAT MODERN SAINT

GUPTARGHAT,FAIZABAD
(The legend has it that Rama took Jal Samadhi here)

( The majestic Raj Mandir)

Swami Krishnanad  was born at Tiruvalla in Kerala on 2 September 1922.Immediately after his schooling,he joined Army as a Stenographer. He was a born spiritual who came under influence of Sarveshwari Sri Kishori Mata Ji at Kartikeya Sewa Sadan, Guptarghat,Faizabad.Under her guidance, the Swami attained realisation on 22 Feb 1957
Thereafter he resigned from Army & became a monk.
For him, every one was a dear friend. He was love personified.
About his love,it is known that a person who came in his contact experienced a unique extent of love.It was just beyond description.
Words are creations of the mind while the experiences of saints are beyond the domain of mind.

Swami entered Mahasamadhi on 7 March 1999 at Faizabad.

A temple 'Raj Mandir' ,built by the King of Ayodhya stands here.Next to the temple is a vast expanse of Company Garden that was made by the East India Company.Inside the Botanical Garden, stands a huge Banyan tree that has been a witness to many spiritual happenings.Swami Krishnanand had often talked of 'spritual vibrations' under this tree. The speciality of this Banyan tree is that unlike other Banyan Trees,it has no aerial roots.I have attended many prayer sessions here.
Bhagwan Kartikeya Maharaj had the 'darshan' of the 'Saptrishis' sitting on the seven branches of this tree.
Krishnan Nair (Original name of Swami Krishnanand) was posted in the Army School of Mechanical Transport (ASMT) located here as PA to Colonel Bhatia. He was earlier posted to Kashmir from Bangalore & Col Bhatia to Faizabad. Both of them had worked together at Bangalore. Lo & behold, an Army  Dispatch Rider managed to find him sitting in the train &  gave him an amendment to his transfer order to Faizabad .
His spiritual innings had now begun!
All of us who are reading this are blessed!
An article published in 'The Times of India News Service' dated 3 Aug 1957 brought out a story that the younger brother of Kerala's top Communist MN Govindan Nair has turned a Yogi.
My Grandpa was very closely associated with Sarveswari Kishori Mata Ji, Swami Krisnanand & Kartikeya Sewa Sadan located at 19,Park Road,Guptar Ghat.He was an extremely religious man & had excelled in his profession. Both he & Bharat Ratna GB Pant had studied together from Ramsay to the University of Allahabad. My Grandpa was one year older to Pant Ji. The latter always called him 'Daju (Elder Brother)' out of respect.
Most of the inmates of Kartikeya Sewa Sadan invariably made it to our house in the summers. Later, Grandpa made Cleave Cottage available to them exclusively.
I was a young lad of 11years when I along with my Grandpa & my elder brother visited Raj Mandir in 1957.At that time,Mata Ji used to stay there.Later she shifted to Kartikeya Sewa Sadan.
