(SOMBAR GIRI MAHARAJ)
With folded hands he said" Baba, there is no ghee (cooking oil) left. I have hundreds of puris to fry. What do I do ? Very soon people shall start thronging at the Ashram premises for the 'bhandara'. I have failed ."
Baba gave him a smile & said " How many canisters of ghee do you need ?".
"Four" said the Storekeeper.
" Go to the river.Take four empty canisters.Fill them up.Fry your puris. Do not worry. It is all OK. Some one is getting four canisters of ghee.He will be here shortly" said the Baba.
The Storekeeper obeyed the Baba. he finished frying the puris. The food was ready.
Within an hour, two local ponies along-with their handler came to the Ashram. He laid prostrate in front of the Baba & said," Baba, I am sorry for the delay.Forgive me".
"May Lord Shiva bless you !You are not late. You were ordained to come now only. Now go & return the ghee to the river. This was the loan I had taken", said the Baba.
Promptly, the four canisters were emptied into the river!
My Grandpa had told me that once he had got delayed as he had been walking all the way to Kakrighat to have 'darshan' of the Baba. He had a premotion that Baba had called him.It was pretty dark.No sooner he along-with his buddy had reached near the river bank, they heard loud roars of a tiger.Suddenly, he heard the piercing voice of the Baba from across the river," Bhairab, cross the river & do not worry.I have told him ( Tiger) to go away."
There were no roars thereafter !
I too heard this story along with many more. The saint lived a complete life of dedication towards the bhakti.
